Position Summary

The Sales Operations Manager fosters a positive and collaborative workplace and demonstrates inspiring leadership to the sales support team. The person in this role oversees sales and support team engagement, has overall responsibility for each support team members’ performance management and professional development in alignment with organizational values. This position also includes providing direct support to the sales committees and the sales team.

Role and Responsibilities Overview

  • Oversee Sales Operations functions to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Provide inspiration and guidance to sales support team including:
  • Provide regular, meaningful and intentional coaching to direct reports
  • Collaborate with team members for professional development and career pathing
  • Counsel team members as needed; facilitate solutions when challenges and tensions are barriers to success
  • Provide onboarding, orientation, and ongoing trainings that elevate knowledge, skills, and competencies on the sales support team
  • Lead performance management procedures and practices for direct reports
  • Develop, monitor, and update Standard Operating Procedures that foster efficiencies throughout the department’s processes.
  • Effectively use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for reports generation, searches, and data integrity and operational analysis.
  • Create, proof, edit and deliver accurate documentation and communications to stakeholders including presentation in alignment with brand standards
  • Provide support and ensure excellent communications with:
  • Sales and other committees including meeting coordination
  • Other departments to align organizational and departmental needs and expectations
  • Sales leadership team including budget development and analysis, and report preparations.
  • Oversee coordination of sales meetings and activities within the sales division such as Operations meeting, Business Review, Division Meeting and other internal meetings as necessary.
  • Oversee and manage promotional items and inventory
  • Manage the Visit Dallas ticket program, and related compliance and reporting.
  • Provide executive\-level support to Sales leadership through reporting, analysis, and project execution.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Secondary education including program participation and or certification in a related field
  • Minium 3 years in an administrative role in the hospitality industry
  • Minimum two years’ experience in leading others, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management practices preferably in a sales environment
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting metrics
  • Experience and proficiency working with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products
  • Experience in vendor/supplier management

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The person in this role will operate in an office environment with frequent and consistent use of a laptop computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, cell phone and other related equipment. It is partly a sedentary role with extended working time sitting. There may be occasions working at off\-site locations where the environment will vary. Exertion of force and the ability to carry up to 25 pounds occasionally, and 10 pounds frequently is required.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full\-time position with an expectation of 40 \+ hours of work each week. The regular office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Evening and weekend work and participation in events that occur outside of the regular office hours is expected occasionally. Visit Dallas offers an optional hybrid work schedule where most team members may work from home on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Expected Travel

The person in this role can expect up to 20% local travel (within the Dallas area) and may be required to travel on occasion outside of Dallas and the immediate driving area to attend industry meetings, conferences, and other events or activities by plane.
