Job Title: Deal Desk Manager ================================

Location: On-site in Dallas

Reports to: Director of RevOps

Role Overview

The Deal Desk Manager plays a critical role in supporting revenue growth by ensuring deal accuracy, compliance, and scalability. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, RevOps, and Leadership to review complex deals, manage commission processes, and maintain operational excellence across Salesforce and CPQ systems.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and deeply experienced in SFDC/CPQ, deal review workflows, and sales compensation ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce & CPQ Ownership

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Salesforce (SFDC) and CPQ, ensuring accurate deal configuration, pricing, approvals, and data integrity
  • Maintain and optimize CPQ workflows, pricing rules, approvals, and validations
  • Partner with RevOps and Systems teams on enhancements, testing, and releases

Deal Review & Deal Desk Governance

  • Own the deal review process for all non-standard, high-value, or complex deals
  • Ensure deals align with pricing, discounting, legal, and revenue recognition policies
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Sales by structuring deals that balance customer needs and company goals
  • Enforce consistency and compliance across all deal submissions

Commission Ownership & System Management

  • Own sales commission processes end-to-end, including calculation, validation, and reporting
  • Manage and administer the commission system (e.g., Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Spiff, or equivalent)
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate and timely commission payouts
  • Resolve commission inquiries and discrepancies with a high level of accuracy and professionalism

Compensation Plan Generation

  • Support the design, generation, and documentation of sales compensation plans
  • Translate comp plans into scalable system logic and calculations
  • Ensure plans are clearly documented, auditable, and aligned with business objectives
  • Assist in modeling and scenario analysis for new or changing compensation structures

Operational Excellence & Detail Management

  • Maintain an exceptional level of attention to detail across deals, commissions, and system data
  • Proactively identify process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies
  • Create and maintain SOPs, documentation, and training materials
  • Support audits and reporting with confidence and accuracy

Required Qualifications (Must Haves)

  • Very strong hands-on experience with Salesforce (SFDC) and CPQ
  • Proven experience owning deal desk processes and deal review governance
  • Demonstrated ownership of sales commissions, including system administration
  • Experience generating and operationalizing compensation plans
  • Exceptionally detail-focused with a track record of accuracy and accountability
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with Sales, Finance, and RevOps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth environments
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 and revenue recognition concepts
  • Experience scaling deal desk operations
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with commission tools such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar
