Position Overview

Puddle Pool Services of Northern New Jersey is seeking a General Manager to lead and scale a high\-growth territory within a nationally recognized pool service platform. This role is designed for a disciplined operator who combines field leadership with strong financial oversight and execution rigor.

The General Manager will oversee field operations, technician performance, route optimization, customer growth, and full P\&L accountability. This position requires establishing operational excellence, driving recurring revenue expansion, and building structured systems that support sustained, profitable growth.

The GM reports directly to ownership and plays a critical leadership role in shaping long\-term territory performance. The territory operates with established national systems, vendor partnerships, and operational infrastructure to support disciplined growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily service operations including cleanings, openings/closings, and repairs
• Implement structured scheduling and route\-density optimization
• Establish clear quality\-control standards and service accountability metrics
• Maintain chemical inventory discipline and vendor performance management

Financial \& Performance Ownership

• Own full territory P\&L performance
• Drive gross margin expansion through labor efficiency and route density
• Monitor KPIs including:

o Technician productivity

o Customer retention rate

o Service line profitability

• Maintain disciplined cost control and budget management

Team Development

• Recruit, hire, and develop high\-performing service technicians
• Set clear productivity and performance standards
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and professionalism

Market Growth

• Expand recurring service base within defined service corridors
• Increase route density in target municipalities
• Drive upsells of repair, equipment, and seasonal services

Licensing \& Certification Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License (Required)
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) – required within 90 days if not currently held
• PHTA CST, CMT, CSP or equivalent certification (required or ability to obtain within 6–12 months)

Required Qualifications

• 3\+ years’ experience in pool service, home services, or related field operations
• Experience managing 2–10 field technicians
• Demonstrated P\&L accountability
• Strong operational and financial management discipline
• Experience with CRM and route\-based scheduling systems
• Analytical problem\-solving mindset
• Ability to lead strategically while remaining hands\-on when required

Compensation \& Performance Structure

• Competitive base salary range starting at $90,000
• Structured performance\-based bonus 15 – 25% tied to:

o Gross margin expansion

o Revenue growth

o Customer retention

• Defined pathway toward profit\-sharing or equity participation based on performance milestones

Pay: $90,000\.00 \- $115,000\.00 per year
