This is an opportunity to experience multiple facets of Commercial Operations at a pharmaceutical company as an intern. The intern will be involved with and have exposure to senior Commercial leadership with projects that will have an impact on the business’ decision making and provide valuable experiences to take back to the classroom.
Position Summary
This internship will have multi\-week projects in one or more of the functional areas within Business Operations \& Analytics: Market Research, Supply Chain Operations and Financial Planning and Analysis (e.g. 1 Market Research 6\-week project and 1 Supply Chain 6\-week project). Each independent project will be managed by a functional lead, include independent research and analysis and end with a presentation to Commercial Leadership. Non\-project time will be devoted to meeting functional heads within Commercial and other specialties within Taiho Oncology (e.g. Development, Regulatory, etc.).
Performance Objectives
- The primary objective for a Summer Intern is to gain knowledge of the Commercial Operations of a pharmaceutical company. The individual should bring an intellectual curiosity and a “can\-do” work ethic. A successful summer would be spent absorbing as much knowledge and experience as possible within the rotational areas.
- Some potential projects include:
- Assist in government funded insurance rebate programs
- Evaluate supply chain scenarios for European distribution
- Assist in market research on assigned therapeutic areas or competitive landscape
- Deliver presentations summarizing project outcomes
Education/Certification Requirements
- In a Bachelor's degree program, rising junior or senior, degree in business, math, finance, science or marketing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self\-starter with strong analytical skills, ability to adapt within fast\-paced environment and apply new learnings.
- Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Interest in Pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Detail and quality oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Establish and cultivate relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and partners across the organization.
- Ability to learn, integrate complex information, and communicate key insights in clear, concise fashion to team members.
- A positive attitude, flexibility and a proactive thought process.
- Team player who can work in a dynamic environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $18 \- $22 hourly. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job\-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an “at\-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
