About This Role
This is an open position with Jersey Central Power \& Light (JCP\&L), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. \[JCPL]
This position, located in Hopatcong, NJ, reports to the Supervisor, Revenue Operations.
This position works on Evening Shift: M\-F 11am\-7:30pm.
The starting pay for this role is $21\.91/hr and the top rate is $27\.38/hr
Responsibilities Include
- Receiving customer service requests and preparing paperwork to create or terminate electric service
- Responsible for customer interaction at Payment Windows
- Accepting credit deposits and customer payments, balancing cash drawer and preparing bank deposits
- Performing clerical duties associated with collection activity and making phone calls to delinquent accounts
- Preparing appropriate orders for record correction, field investigation and collection documents
- Handling administrative work applicable to active and inactive accounts
- Ability to multi\-task regular duties while answering phone calls from Field Collectors requiring immediate customer assistance.
- Processing and responding to customer inquiries
- Reviewing and monitoring delinquent accounts; assisting with direction of field collection activity and maintaining records
- Preparing necessary reports relative to delinquent accounts receivable
- Occasional travel in assisting additional Northern payment Centers when needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred
- Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support and Administration Selection System (SASS) test
- Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Required to work overtime as needed, including emergency situations, after 9 months as a CSR.
- Good analytical skills and judgement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn company tariffs and state regulatory commissions
