Position Overview
HTX Material Handling is seeking a highly capable, dependable and highly trusted Senior Operations Manager to act as the Operating Partner’s principal operational counterpart. This role is designed for a proactive leader who can operate with autonomy, sound judgment, and strong cross\-functional influence.
The Senior Operations Manager will act as a critical bridge between departments, ensuring alignment, accountability, and operational efficiency across functions. While this role does not have direct reports, it carries significant decision\-making authority and organizational influence.
In the absence of the Operating Partner, this individual will serve as their representative—acting as the voice of leadership to maintain continuity, uphold standards, and drive business priorities forward.
This role requires a highly execution\-focused operator, responsible for driving accountability and ensuring that each department consistently delivers its roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Cross\-Department Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Service, Parts, Rental, and Finance to ensure seamless communication and execution
- Identify and resolve operational gaps, conflicts, and inefficiencies between departments
Execution \& Accountability
- Drive disciplined execution across all departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and partner directives
- Hold teams accountable for fulfilling their defined roles, responsibilities, and commitments through consistent follow\-up and performance tracking
- Promote a culture of ownership, urgency, and results
Budget \& Performance Management
- Monitor and track performance against budgets across all key areas, including Sales, Service, Parts, and Rental.
- Ensure each department is operating within targets and proactively address variances
- Provide visibility and reporting to leadership on performance and risks
Operational Oversight
- Oversee day\-to\-day operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and alignment across the business
- Track key performance indicators and escalate issues as needed
Decision\-Making Authority
- Exercise sound judgment in making operational decisions that impact workflow, customer satisfaction, and internal efficiency
- Act with authority on behalf of the Operating Partner when appropriate
Leadership Representation
- Represent the Operating Partner in meetings, communications, and strategic discussions when they are unavailable
- Provide clear, actionable feedback and updates to leadership
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve collaboration, and enhance customer experience
- Support implementation of new processes, systems, or initiatives.
Accountability \& Follow\-Through
- Ensure commitments made by Sales and Service teams are executed effectively
- Hold teams accountable through influence, not direct authority
Qualifications
- Proven experience in operations, project management, or a cross\-functional leadership role (preferably in material handling, equipment, or service\-based industries)
- Strong understanding of both sales processes and service operations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness
- Strong problem\-solving and decision\-making abilities
- Self\-starter with the ability to operate independently in a fast\-paced environment
