WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and you will lead and direct office staff in the operation of critical financial and administrative functions..

YOUR ROLE WITHIN THE TEAM

As the Business Operations Manager, you’ll oversee business operations, providing leadership and support to ensure the organization operates efficiently. You’ll manage financial, human resources, benefit administration, regulatory compliance and administrative functions including budgeting, contracting and procurements, and direct support for the CEO and Board of Directors. You will take initiative and lead other office staff in the execution of business affairs while enabling creativity, collaboration, and growth in others.

BOARD AND EXECUTIVE SUPPORT

  • Oversee support for the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and RRC Committees, including coordination, logistics, facilitation, and preparation of meeting materials.
  • Oversee internal and external communications for the CEO.
  • Facilitate communication among working groups and committee leads.

ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS

  • Develop, review, and improve administrative systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Draft and maintain organizational policies, standard operating procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee administrative staff functions and workflows.
  • Manage program activities to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records using the RRC’s approved filing procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the administration of office software, purchases, and training.
  • Oversee the design, management, updates, and content posting for the RRC website and organizational social media channel.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as the primary hiring official for the organization, including job postings, applicant screening, interview setup, and hiring documentation
  • Oversee new employee onboarding, training coordination, and employee offboarding process.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with HR regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits program, including medical insurance, life, and disability insurance, also 401k.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment and serve as the primary liaison with benefit providers.

FINANCIAL AND PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Facilitate the annual budget development process.
  • Oversee and report on accounting matters, and financial management processes.
  • Administer staff 401(k) contributions and payments, serving as the primary point of contact with the retirement plan provider.
  • Lead all financial, insurance and benefit\-related audits.
  • Manage procurement and purchasing activities to ensure cost efficiency and compliance with policies.
  • Maintain financial compliance documentation and support regulatory reporting.

COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

  • Support staff and consult with RRC activity postings on the website and other platforms.
  • Support public inquiries, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Review business operations to maintain compliance with public process requirements.
  • Explore and recommend innovative approaches to meet administrative needs and improve processes.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Promote a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Perform responsibilities in compliance with safety regulations and organizational standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties and project oversight as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business\-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5\) years of progressive administrative experience.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license (or ability to obtain one under Alaska regulations) with an acceptable driving record.
  • At least one (1\) year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Documented training in project management, accounting, or finance is highly desirable.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic).
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively and foster collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Skilled in problem\-solving, process improvement, and driving efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain cooperative relationships.
  • Self\-motivated with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $160,000, based on experience and qualifications.
