About This Role
The University at Buffalo Office of the Provostseeks a Business Operations/HR Assistant to provide exceptional service and finance and human resources business support for multiple areas reporting up to the Provost, with a strong focus on compliance, sustainability and transparent reporting. Working in a team environment, the Business Operations/HR Assistant works collaboratively to:
- Serve as a liaison to advise departments on human resources, finance, and procurement requests and transactions.
- Prepare human resources and financial requests and transactions to ensure compliance with budgets, policies, and University guidelines.
- Initiate, track, and monitor transactions and assist with the onboarding process for staff, students, volunteers, and outside contractors.
- Utilize the UB systems to perform needed finance and human resources transactions and reporting as requested and provide customer service to address common questions regarding purchasing, human resources, payroll, and travel.
- Provide input for the development of unit\-level policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with one (1\) year of responsible work experience in an administrative setting. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong and effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial and/or account management practices and principles including budget creation and account reconciliation.
- Must be able to work independently and exhibit good judgment. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload while ensuring multiple simultaneous projects are completed within expected deadlines.
- Experience working with MS Office, Outlook, and other similar software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3\+ years of responsible work experience in an administrative setting.
- Experience in finance or personnel administration.
- Experience within higher education.
- Experience with SIRI, ePTF, UBJobs, eReq, Shop Blue, Concur preferred.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $34,200 \- $37,200
