Position: Senior Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is a core member and leader of the YMCA and leadership team. The Director of Operations position oversees the day\-to\-day operations of the YMCA, and is responsible for organizational marketing efforts, membership sales, growth and retention while supervising the membership, aquatics, building maintenance and overall facility management . The Director of Operations will be a key player in helping the CEO and Board of Directors lead the organization through expansion and growth of the YMCA. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Operations at the YMCA of Sandusky County stewards the Y’s cause, promoting and protecting the brand and reputation as a global, inclusive organization within the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, experience and certifications – Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 5 years of proven success in marketing, sales and customer service, within the YMCA or equivalent professional experience as a manager/consultant of a sales territory in a related industry. Staff supervisory experience required, fundraising, grant writing experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities – With an understanding of the YMCA mission as well as the goals and objectives of the strategic plan, this person must be able to implement sales, services and programs in accordance with YMCA of the USA standards. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and must be creative, motivated and a self\-starter. Must be outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable and be able to form connected relationships with Donors, Corporate Partners, staff and members. Must be able to project enthusiasm to other staff and members. Must be able to work independently as well as with a staff team. Incumbent must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including being able to present to large groups. Must have excellent computer skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The incumbent must have proven leadership skills in marketing, sales and customer service, staff management, facility management, fiscal management, team building skills, and Corporate Membership account management to successfully carry out his/her duties in accordance with the YMCA’s mission and strategic plan. Other important functions of the Director of Operations include:
· Implementing and evaluating all aspects of the membership function, including the overall Member Experience, in accordance with YMCA of Sandusky County’s guidelines and with direction from the CEO.
· Develops, implements and monitors Membership Plan for the achievement of monthly financial goals, identifying prospects, appointments, membership sales, and membership attrition.
· Monitors and maintains a working knowledge of membership types and rate structures, including short term memberships and membership payment options.
· Maintains accurate records and is accountable for all data generated by the sales and service team leaders and staff.
· Accountable for developing systems to track and report all tours and guest activity in internal tracking systems.
· Builds relationships with service team members and other YMCA staff team members.
· Maintains working knowledge of all YMCA program areas and provides responsive service to requests from program staff, members, and community partners.
· Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
· Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies that support YMCA mission, goals and strategies.
· Development and implementation of an integrated omni channel marketing plan focused on county wide membership growth in three key areas: General Membership, Active Older Adult \& 3rd Party Insurance Membership, and Corporate Membership.
· Accomplishes marketing and organizational mission by completing related results as needed. Will provide leadership in the planning and implementation of all marketing initiatives.
· Achieves marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer\-service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
· Manage, implement and grow the YMCA’s Corporate Membership Program and accounts. Participate in events that promote membership sales and retention.
· Develops, manages and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
· Provides staff leadership for the annual campaign. Assist in identifying new potential community donors.
· Communicates any suggestions to improve the branch operations to the appropriate staff member and CEO.
· Increases staff and member awareness of healthy lifestyle factors.
· Be capable of facilitating and attending designated trainings.
· Other duties as assigned.
Pay: $50,000\.00 \- $62,000\.00 per year
