About This Role

Vice President of Revenue Operations

Company: Alta Development Employment Type: Full-Time | Remote

Position Overview

Alta Development is seeking an experienced Vice President of Revenue Operations to oversee revenue planning, strengthen commercial performance, and bring greater financial and operational discipline to the company's growth strategy.

This position requires a senior leader who understands how revenue is generated, forecasted, and managed within a development-focused business. The role goes beyond reporting sales results. It involves connecting commercial activity with financial performance, improving the reliability of revenue projections, and ensuring that business decisions are supported by accurate information.

Working closely with executive leadership, Finance, Sales, and Operations, the Vice President of Revenue Operations will be responsible for building a more consistent approach to revenue management while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and long-term business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the company's revenue operations strategy, ensuring commercial activities, financial planning, and operational priorities remain aligned with business objectives.

Establish reliable revenue forecasting processes that account for project timelines, sales activity, contractual commitments, market conditions, and expected cash flow.

Work closely with Finance and executive leadership to evaluate revenue performance, operating margins, pricing decisions, and the financial implications of major business opportunities.

Improve visibility into the company's revenue pipeline by developing reporting standards, performance dashboards, and clear accountability across commercial teams.

Partner with Sales, Business Development, and project leadership to identify obstacles affecting revenue generation, contract execution, and customer conversion.

Review commercial processes, revenue recognition practices, and reporting procedures to improve accuracy and support sound financial management.

Evaluate the financial performance of individual projects, customer relationships, and business segments to identify opportunities for stronger returns.

Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and establish more consistent processes across revenue-generating functions.

Support annual business planning, revenue target development, budget discussions, and resource allocation decisions.

Build and lead a revenue operations function capable of supporting the company's growth while maintaining financial discipline and operational accountability.

Qualifications

12+ years of progressive experience in revenue operations, commercial finance, business operations, sales operations, or corporate financial planning.

Significant experience in a senior leadership position with responsibility for revenue forecasting, financial performance, and cross-functional business operations.

A background in real estate development, property investment, construction, or another project-driven industry is preferred.

Strong understanding of revenue forecasting, financial modeling, budgeting, profitability analysis, and commercial performance management.

Experience developing reporting systems, improving business processes, and establishing performance measures that support executive decision-making.

Working knowledge of contract economics, project financial performance, revenue recognition principles, and cash flow management.

Demonstrated ability to work with senior executives and coordinate initiatives across Finance, Sales, Development, and Operations.

Strong analytical judgment, communication skills, and experience leading teams through operational improvements.

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required. An MBA or relevant advanced qualification is preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a commercially minded operations executive who understands the relationship between revenue growth, financial performance, and disciplined execution.

They have experience working with complex revenue models, identifying weaknesses in forecasting and reporting, and developing practical solutions that improve how a business operates.

This individual should be comfortable challenging financial assumptions, working through difficult operational issues, and helping senior leadership make decisions based on realistic revenue expectations rather than optimistic projections.

Above all, Alta Development is looking for a leader who can bring structure to revenue operations without creating unnecessary complexity, improve financial visibility across the organization, and help establish a dependable foundation for sustainable business growth.
