About LANES
LANES (Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services) is a Qualified Health Information Organization (QHIO) serving the greater Los Angeles region and southern California. We provide a technology platform that connects health systems, clinics, hospitals, and social service organizations to improve care coordination and health outcomes across the region.. As LANES continues to grow and mature as an organization, we are investing in strengthening our internal infrastructure, including bringing contracting and accounting operations in\-house, which are currently outsourced.
The Opportunity
This is not a backfill position. It is building a new department and transitioning the contracting and accounting function in\-house. The individual we hire will inherit a portfolio of 250\+ participant accounts and a set of existing workflows that are currently managed by our fiscal intermediary, Heluna Health, outside our walls. They will be responsible for understanding what exists, identifying what needs to change, selecting the right tools, building the processes and procedures from the ground up, and then managing them day to day.
For the right person, this is a high\-visibility role with real ownership and a direct line to organizational leadership. There will be a transitional period in which the individual will work in parallel with Heluna Health — that overlap is intentional and important, and the ability to manage a structured and seamless handoff will be critical to success. critical to your success.
What You Will Own
Contract Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and owner for all LANES participant contracts across a portfolio of 250\+ accounts
- Manage contract lifecycles end to end — from initial drafting and redlines through execution, renewals, amendments, and terminations
- Build and maintain a centralized contract tracking system with visibility into key dates, obligations, and status across all accounts
- Work with legal counsel as needed on complex agreements, but be capable of handling routine contracting independently
- Establish standardized contract templates, approval workflows, and documentation standards where none currently exist
Accounts Receivable
- Own the AR function — invoicing, collections, aging reports, and reconciliation across all participant accounts
- Develop and implement a billing process that is accurate, timely, and scalable as the organization grows
- Partner with the participant success and technical teams to ensure billing aligns with actual service delivery and participation agreements
- Manage the relationship with participants around financial matters, including resolving billing disputes and communicating on outstanding balances
- Build internal controls and audit\-ready documentation for all AR activities
Financial Reporting \& Analysis
- Produce regular financial reports for leadership that translate operational data into meaningful insights — not just numbers on a page
- Support the leadership with dashboards, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis tied to revenue, collections, and contract performance
- Understand the basics of nonprofit financial reporting — including how grant funding, earned revenue, and deferred revenue interact — and apply that understanding to how you structure and present data
- Serve as an informed partner to the external auditors and accounting staff during annual audits and reporting cycles
Systems \& Process Development
- Evaluate, select, and implement the tools and platforms needed to support contracts, billing, AR, and financial reporting — likely including a contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool and an accounting or billing platform
- Document every process you build — procedures, controls, and workflows — in a format that is usable by others and survives organizational change
- Manage the parallel transition period with Heluna Health, ensuring continuity of operations while systematically migrating functions in\-house
- Train internal staff as the team grows and serve as the subject matter expert on financial operations
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is proactive, and comfortable building structure where it does not yet exist. This role requires initiative and strong organizational skills to help design and implement processes with appropriate checks and balances to ensure a smooth transition.
While this is not a leadership role, it does require ownership, independent problem\-solving, and the ability to work closely with executive leadership during the transition period. Below is the baseline profile we are seeking:
Experience
- 5\+ years of experience in a role that combined contracts, accounts receivable, or financial operations — ideally in a health care, Health Tech, nonprofit, or Healthcare adjacent setting.
- Hands\-on experience managing a high volume of accounts or contracts — 100\+ is the floor, 200\+ is a meaningful plus
- Experience building or substantially rebuilding an operational function — not just inheriting a working system
- Familiarity with health care contracting concepts, including participation agreements, data use agreements, or similar instruments, is a real advantage
- Prior experience in a fiscal sponsorship or organizational transition context is a bonus, not a requirement
Skills \& Capabilities
- Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable principles, billing workflows, and collections practices
- Comfortable reading and negotiating contracts
- Solid grasp of financial reporting — you do not need to be a CPA, but you need to understand what a P\&L and balance sheet are telling you and why it matters
- Experience selecting and implementing software tools — you have done a vendor evaluation before and know how to ask the right questions
- Strong written communication skills — you will be writing procedures, policies, and correspondence that other people rely on
- Exceptionally organized with the ability to track a large number of moving pieces without things falling through the cracks
Compensation \& Benefits
LANES offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges from $110,000 to $130,000\.
Pay: $110,000\.00 \- $130,000\.00 per year
