Position Description
This position is responsible for driving revenue and unit sales for Lyte Business while supporting the growth of additional commercial sales channels. The Business Sales Manager is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business accounts while partnering with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Construction, and other internal teams to execute strategic growth initiatives. This role may also provide leadership, coaching, and day\-to\-day direction for Business Account Executives and other commercial sales resources as the organization continues to grow.
In addition to leading SMB sales efforts, this role supports Inbound and Outbound sales enablement, Multi\-Dwelling Unit (MDU) opportunities, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs). This position works closely with the Director of Sales to improve sales performance, develop new opportunities, and coordinate cross\-functional efforts that drive business growth. This is a quota\-carrying role with clear monthly performance expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development \& Sales Execution
- Prospect, qualify, and close new SMB customers across assigned cities within the company's footprint.
- Conduct on\-site visits to local businesses, build relationships, and deliver customized fiber connectivity solutions.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales quotas and activity expectations.
- Develop, manage, and maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities through CRM tools, outbound prospecting, referrals, local engagement, and structured follow\-up.
Team Leadership
- Provide day\-to\-day leadership, coaching, and development for Business Account Executives and other assigned sales resources.
- Support onboarding, training, ride\-alongs, and performance coaching to improve individual and team results.
- Monitor pipeline activity, sales performance, and customer engagement to help ensure quota attainment.
- Foster a collaborative, customer\-focused sales culture while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Inbound \& Outbound Sales Support
- Partner with the Director of Sales to support the development and growth of inbound and outbound sales programs.
- Assist with sales training, coaching, call reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback on sales processes, customer experience, and opportunities to improve conversion across multiple sales channels.
- Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to support future outbound sales initiatives.
Multi\-Dwelling Unit (MDU) Development
- Assist in identifying and qualifying new MDU opportunities throughout the company's footprint.
- Partner with the Director of Sales to build relationships with property owners, management companies, and developers.
- Support Right of Entry (ROE) efforts and coordinate activities necessary to move MDU opportunities through the sales process.
- Work with internal departments to help prepare MDU properties for successful launch.
Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
- Assist in coordinating responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and other commercial bid opportunities.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and other internal teams to gather required information and ensure timely submission.
- Track proposal milestones and help coordinate deliverables throughout the RFP process.
Community Engagement
- Represent the company at local events, chamber meetings, business gatherings, and community functions.
- Build strong relationships with economic development leaders, property managers, local businesses, and community stakeholders.
Cross\-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Construction, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure projects move efficiently from opportunity through installation.
- Communicate customer needs, market intelligence, competitive activity, and field feedback to leadership to improve products, processes, and the customer experience.
Customer Experience
- Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for customers, including setting expectations for construction timelines, installation, and service delivery.
- Maintain ongoing relationships to identify opportunities for renewals, upsells, referrals, and long\-term customer satisfaction.
Other Duties
- Serve as a collaborative resource across multiple business initiatives and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the continued growth of the business.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience (telecommunications or ISP experience preferred).
- Experience prospecting, developing, and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship\-building skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work effectively across departments.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time\-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a quota\-driven sales environment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to travel at least 15% of the time.
- This role requires regular local travel, customer meetings, and collaboration with internal teams.
- Must be comfortable working in both office and field environments.
