Role Overview

The Principal, Business Analysis will serve as a senior internal consultant responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to define, structure, and deliver complex solutions within the organization’s pricing and billing ecosystem. This role combines deep business analysis expertise with consulting, stakeholder engagement, and solution design capabilities to drive strategic initiatives from intake through execution.

This individual will operate as a trusted advisor—translating ambiguous business problems into structured analysis, actionable recommendations, and scalable solutions aligned with enterprise systems and constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Consulting \& Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with internal stakeholders (Product, Finance, Sales, Operations) to understand business needs and translate them into structured problem statements and solution frameworks

Lead consultation engagements, including discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and solution walkthroughs

Provide subject matter guidance on pricing models, billing constraints, and system capabilities

Challenge assumptions and drive data\-informed decision making

Business Analysis \& Solution Design

Translate complex business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and process flows

Define end\-to\-end business solutions across pricing, billing, and downstream operational processes

Identify impacts across systems, dependencies, and risks to ensure successful implementation

Develop scalable solution patterns and reusable frameworks for repeatable use

Process Standardization \& Continuous Improvement

Establish and drive adoption of standardized consulting playbooks, intake processes, and delivery artifacts

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance solution quality

Contribute to development of BA best practices, templates, and governance models

Delivery Leadership

Lead or support initiatives across the full lifecycle: intake, assessment, requirements, UAT, and deployment

Ensure clear alignment between stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery timelines

Support prioritization and trade\-off discussions based on value, complexity, and feasibility

Thought Leadership \& Enablement

Act as a senior thought leader within the Business Analysis community

Mentor junior and mid\-level BAs on consulting skills, structured thinking, and stakeholder engagement

Contribute to training materials, enablement sessions, and knowledge sharing forums

All About You

Strong experience in business analysis, consulting, or product strategy, ideally within payments, pricing, or financial services

Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous environments, structuring complex problems into actionable solutions

Expertise in requirements gathering, process modeling, and solution design across enterprise systems

Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision\-making

Experience working within constraints of large\-scale systems (e.g., billing platforms, pricing engines)

Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills with a structured, hypothesis\-driven approach

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with pricing strategy, billing systems, or revenue operations models

Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Experience building or working within an internal consulting or shared services model

Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job\-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro\-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best\-in\-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on\-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
