About This Role

Job Description

McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a Director of Revenue Operations \& Maritime Strategy to lead the company’s enterprise growth operating system while supporting strategic expansion across the maritime defense and industrial base ecosystem.

This role is responsible for integrating business development, pipeline governance, proposal operations, strategic initiatives, and cross\-functional execution into a disciplined and scalable growth framework aligned with MRC’s long\-term strategy.

The Director will work closely with the Vice President of Revenue, President \& CEO, Program leadership, and other senior leaders to improve forecasting discipline, increase opportunity visibility, strengthen capture\-to\-execution transitions, and identify high\-value strategic growth opportunities across Navy, Maritime Industrial Base, and defense partner ecosystems.

This is not a traditional sales or CRM administration role. The position is designed for a highly organized strategic operator capable of driving enterprise coordination, governance, accountability, and growth execution in a fast\-paced defense contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Operations Leadership

  • Lead MRC’s enterprise growth operating system, including:
  • Pipeline governance
  • Opportunity qualification
  • Capture coordination
  • Proposal readiness tracking
  • Forecast discipline
  • Growth metrics and executive dashboards
  • Maintain accurate and actionable pipeline visibility across:
  • Traditional government contracting
  • Non\-traditional acquisition vehicles
  • Defense industry partnerships
  • Maritime and undersea warfare initiatives
  • Establish and enforce standardized growth governance processes and stage\-gate reviews.
  • Eliminate stale, low\-probability, or misaligned pursuits from the active pipeline.
  • Support bid/no\-bid decisions through data\-driven analysis and cross\-functional coordination.

Maritime Strategy \& Strategic Growth Initiatives

  • Support development and execution of MRC’s maritime growth strategy across:
  • Navy customers
  • Maritime Industrial Base initiatives
  • Shipbuilding and sustainment ecosystems
  • Undersea warfare and subsea capability areas
  • Strategic defense partnerships
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives involving:
  • Defense industry partners
  • Consortiums, OTAs, and emerging acquisition pathways
  • Monitor market trends, industrial base priorities, and customer investment areas relevant to MRC’s strategic objectives.
  • Assist executive leadership in identifying and evaluating adjacent market opportunities.

Cross\-Functional Integration

  • Serve as a key integrator between:
  • Revenue
  • Programs
  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Information Technology
  • Improve transition discipline between capture, proposal, award, and program execution phases.
  • Coordinate enterprise growth reviews and executive action tracking.
  • Facilitate recurring leadership reviews focused on:
  • Pipeline health
  • Proposal status
  • Strategic pursuits
  • Growth forecasting
  • Organizational readiness

Executive Reporting \& Governance

  • Develop executive\-level dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and briefing materials for senior leadership and Board\-level discussions.
  • Track organizational growth initiatives and ensure accountability against strategic objectives.
  • Support preparation of strategic briefings, customer engagements, and executive reviews.
  • Assist leadership in developing scalable management rhythms and governance structures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Management, or related field.
  • 10\+ years of experience across one or more of the following:
  • Defense contracting
  • Maritime or Navy operations
  • Strategic operations
  • Program management
  • Revenue operations
  • Enterprise governance
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex cross\-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience developing executive\-level dashboards, metrics, reporting, and governance routines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience operating in high\-visibility, high\-accountability environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non\-technical leadership teams.
