\<Overview\> The Senior Operations Manager serves as key member of the Mellano \& Company management team and is a dynamic leader capable of bridging commercial growth with operational excellence. By championing corporate objectives and stewarding company values, the Senior Operations Manager aligns the critical functions of sales expansion, logistics management, and operational efficiency across the Mellano portfolio.
The Senior Sales Operations Manager will champion corporate objectives, drive process improvements, and foster a high\-performance culture that aligns with the company’s legacy of quality and innovation.
\<Duties\>
Strategic Operational Management
- Oversee day to day operations for all Mellano sites, including Oceanside and San Luis Rey.
- Develop and execute short, mid, and long\-term strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve all existing business processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
- Ensure accuracy and efficacy with product flow planning, inventory control, and distribution management.
- Manage San Luis Rey operations, ensuring production quality, staffing levels, and facility performance.
- Coordinate operational priorities between Mellano South and Mellano North.
- Represent Mellano \& Company in vendor, customer, and industry relationships.
Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics Management
- Coordinate purchasing and inbound logistics for products from the Mellano Growing Division and Mexico sources.
- Manage inventory levels to balance product availability with cost efficiency.
- Develop and enforce best practices for shipping, receiving, and warehouse management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards across the supply chain.
Sales Strategy
- Provide strategic support of the Sales function to ensure revenue targets, pricing strategies, and commission programs are aligned with overall operational and financial goals.
- Provide strategic support of the Shipping Division, ensuring national wholesale shipping operations are efficient, cost\-effective, and aligned with company service standards.
- Partner with Sales leadership to coordinate territory planning, customer relationship strategy, and market development across South Orange County, San Diego County, and South Riverside County.
- Collaborate with managers company\-wide on cross\-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing on advertising plans, including print and direct mail, ensuring operational feasibility.
- Monitor first\-level collections and customer escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
- 8\+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, or distribution management; experience in agriculture or perishable goods strongly preferred.
- 2\+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute operational strategies that drive measurable efficiency and growth.
- Experience managing multi\-site operations across diverse functional areas (sales, logistics, supply chain, production).
- Strong financial acumen; experience owning budgets, managing costs, and overseeing pricing and commission structures.
- Proven track record leading and developing cross\-functional, cross\-cultural teams.
- Knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, and vendor relations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
