About This Role
Who We Are
==============
Modern Process Equipment (MPE) has spent over 65 years building the machines behind the world's most recognized food and beverage brands, including Starbucks, Nestl, Purina, and Hershey's.
We're a family\-owned engineering and manufacturing company headquartered in Chicago, and we punch well above our weight: small\-company culture, global client roster, and a genuine appetite for innovation at every level.
Marketing here isn't a support function. It's a growth driver. And we're hiring the person to help lead it forward.

Proactive Revenue Role Summary ==================================
This hybrid role combines the content, campaign, and messaging engine of marketing with the field\-facing, revenue\-driving discipline of sales enablement. It exists to close the gap between what marketing produces and what sales actually needs to win.
Unlike a traditional marketing manager who creates assets, hands them off, and waits for sales to request support, this role is proactive and hands\-on. The person in this seat owns the connection between marketing output and sales outcomes. They generate pipeline on purpose, work directly alongside reps in active deals, arm the team with the right tools at the right moment in the deal cycle, and are held accountable to revenue targets rather than marketing activity alone.
Reactive vs. Proactive: A typical marketing manager builds a campaign, produces collateral, and supports sales when asked. This role starts from the sales number, works backward to the plays and content that will hit it, personally pushes those plays into the field before reps ask, and measures success by pipeline created and deals won.
Key Responsibilities
========================
1\. Direct Revenue Engagement
- Participate directly in priority deals: join discovery calls, demos, and customer meetings to support positioning, handle objections, and help advance opportunities.
- Run targeted outbound and follow\-up sequences to engaged accounts, personally initiating conversations rather than only passing leads along.
- Take part in pipeline and deal reviews, identifying stalled opportunities and deploying specific plays, content, or outreach to move them forward.
- Carry shared accountability for a defined pipeline or revenue target alongside the sales team.
2\. Proactive DemandPipeline Generation
- Design and run integrated campaigns explicitly tied to pipeline and revenue targets, not impressions or vanity metrics.
- Own top\-of\-funnel lead generation and the qualification\-to\-sales handoff, actively routing and prioritizing opportunities for reps.
- Build and execute account\-based marketing (ABM) plays for priority target accounts in partnership with sales.
- Surface timely opportunities (intent signals, engaged accounts, warm leads) and equip reps to act on them immediately.
3\. Sales EnablementField Readiness
- Build and maintain sales playbooks, battlecards, objection\-handling guides, and talk tracks for each stage of the deal cycle.
- Lead onboarding for new sales hires and deliver ongoing training on products, messaging, and competitive positioning.
- Coach reps on applying plays and messaging in live deals, using call reviews and win/loss insights to sharpen performance.
- Own the sales content library, ensuring assets are current, easy to find, and actually used; track adoption and retire what underperforms.
- Manage sales\-facing content within the CRM and sales tech stack so reps have the right material at each deal stage.
4\. Messaging, PositioningContent
- Develop and own product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that carry consistently from campaign to first call to close.
- Create both customer\-facing content (web, email, ads, thought leadership) and internal enablement content.
- Run competitive and market intelligence, translating findings into practical guidance reps can use in live deals.
5\. BrandCampaign Marketing
- Maintain brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
- Execute across digital channels (email, SEO, paid, social), events, and webinars, with every program mapped to a downstream sales outcome.
- Coordinate launches so sales is trained, equipped, and ready to sell on day one.
6\. Analytics, FeedbackOptimization
- Measure content usage, campaign ROI, pipeline contribution, sales cycle impact, and win rates.
- Run a closed feedback loop with sales: gather field input on what's working and continuously refine plays and content.
- Report on the metrics that matter to revenue leadership, not just marketing performance.
7\. Sales\-Marketing Alignment
- Act as the connective tissue between the two functions, ensuring shared goals, common definitions (such as what counts as a qualified lead), and a unified go\-to\-market motion.
- Bring the voice of the customer and the field back into marketing strategy and product messaging.
Success Metrics (KPIs) ==========================
- Marketing\-sourced and marketing\-influenced pipeline and revenue
- Pipeline and revenue from deals the role directly supported
- Sales content adoption and usage rates
- New\-hire ramp time to first deal
- Win rate and average deal cycle on enabled or play\-driven deals
- Campaign\-to\-opportunity conversion
