About This Role

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

Manager, Marketing Operations & Events

POSITION: Full-time Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Communications

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Marketing & Communications About the Organization

A FOUNDATION BUILT ON GREATER ATLANTA’S FUTURE

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is one of the nation's largest community

foundations, with over $1.7 billion in assets and more than seven decades of philanthropic

leadership. Through grants, donor services, and civic partnerships, CFGA advances equity and

opportunity across 23 counties in the Greater Atlanta region.

The Role

WHERE MARKETING MEETS IMPACT

The Manager, Marketing Operations & Events helps the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s

Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team operate efficiently, stay organized, and deliver highquality work on time.

This role manages project intake, workflow, timelines, production coordination, and event execution

across the department. The Manager works closely with MarCom colleagues and teams across

CFGA to move projects from planning through completion, clarify responsibilities and deadlines,

and reduce last-minute work and production bottlenecks.

The position also supports planning and executing donor, community, and organizational events.

Program and business leaders own the event strategy, goals, audiences, and content; this role helps

bring that strategy to life through strong planning, logistics, production, and coordination.

Marketing Operations & Project Management

  • Manage day-to-day workflow across the Marketing & Communications department.
  • Coordinate project intake, scope, assignments, timelines, and approvals.
  • Maintain an integrated MarCom project calendar and production schedule.
  • Track progress across active projects and proactively flag risks, delays, and competing

priorities.

  • Partner with the Managing Director and senior MarCom leaders to help sequence work

based on organizational priorities and team capacity.

  • Coordinate cross-functional MarCom projects involving multiple internal teams and external

partners.

  • Own and administer the department’s project management and traffic system, including

project setup, workflows, statuses, templates, permissions, naming conventions, and

reporting. Also partner with IT and other departments, as appropriate, to implement needed

systems.

  • Help establish clear processes, templates, and ways of working that improve efficiency and

accountability across the department.

  • Maintain organized repositories of final creative, templates, brand assets, photography, video

and other MarCom materials so approved files are easy to find, use, and share.

Campaign & Production Coordination

  • Coordinate production across campaigns involving content, creative, digital, email, web,

social, print, and paid media.

  • Manage project timelines, handoffs, and approvals from initial request through final delivery.
  • Help ensure teams have the information, assets, and approvals needed to keep work moving.
  • Coordinate with internal colleagues, agencies, and vendors to support campaign launches

and major communications initiatives.

  • Maintain project documentation, schedules, and status updates.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Support planning and execution for CFGA-hosted and sponsored events.
  • Develop event timelines, project plans, production schedules, and run-of-show documents.
  • Manage event logistics including venues, catering, audiovisual needs, signage, registration,

rentals, and other production requirements.

  • Coordinate with speakers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure event details are

complete and on schedule.

  • Manage on-site execution and serve as an operational point person during events.
  • Coordinate post-event logistics, vendor follow-up, and debriefs.

Vendor & Budget Coordination

  • Manage relationships with event vendors, printers, photographers, videographers,

production companies, and other marketing suppliers.

  • Coordinate estimates, scopes of work, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track project and event expenses against approved budgets.
  • Maintain vendor information and help identify strong external partners for recurring needs.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build strong working relationships with teams across all departments.
  • Help internal partners understand MarCom timelines, responsibilities, and processes.
  • Gather necessary information and approvals before projects move into production.
  • Serve as a responsive, solutions-oriented point of coordination when timelines or priorities

change.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of experience in marketing operations, project management, event production,

communications, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, timelines, and budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-moving

environment.

  • Experience with project management and collaborative platforms such as Asana, Teams,

Monday.com, Notion, or comparable tools.

  • Experience in nonprofit, agency, professional services, or another complex stakeholder

environment is preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining constructive partnerships across

departments and navigating professional relationships with emotional intelligence.

  • Commitment to the CFGA mission of equity and shared prosperity for all.
