Position Summary: The Sales Operations \& Account Manager is a highly collaborative role responsible for supporting sales growth, managing customer relationships, improving operational efficiency, and driving forecast accuracy across the organization. This position serves as a key liaison between Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing to ensure customer needs are met while balancing inventory availability and operational priorities.
The role combines inside sales, account management, sales operations, forecasting, inventory planning, and order management responsibilities. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1\. inside sales and account management
- Manage assigned customer accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for day\-to\-day customer needs
- Generate quotes, process orders, and proactively follow up on open opportunities
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling, cross\-selling, and product recommendations
- Conduct outbound prospecting and follow\-up on marketing\-generated leads
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and growth
- Support Sales Representatives with account development activities and customer communications
- Resolve customer concerns and coordinate solutions with internal teams
2\. specialty sales team support
- Assist Specialty Sales Representatives with account management activities, reporting, customer presentations, and sales initiatives
- Coordinate customer onboarding, product launches, promotional programs, and line reviews
- Maintain accurate customer records, CRM data, and sales activity tracking
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, dashboards, and performance metrics
- Assist with presentation development and customer\-facing materials
- Support special projects and strategic sales initiatives
3\. forecasting \& inventory planning
- Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to develop and maintain customer and product sales forecasts
- Analyze historical sales trends, seasonal demand, customer purchasing patterns, and promotional activity
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively communicate potential shortages, risks, and excess inventory opportunities
- Provide recommendations to improve inventory availability and reduce back orders
- Participate in demand planning and inventory review meetings
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and inventory efficiency
4\. order management \& shipping coordination
- Review open orders and collaborate with Operations to prioritize shipments based on customer needs and business objectives
- Expedite high\-priority customer orders and resolve fulfillment issues
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to support on\-time delivery performance
- Communicate shipment status, delays, and order updates to customers and sales representatives
- Assist in establishing and maintaining order prioritization processes
- Monitor customer service levels and identify opportunities for improvement
5\. cross functional coordination
- Serve as a liaison between Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Operations, and Marketing teams
- Resolve issues impacting customer satisfaction, order fulfillment, or sales performance
- Support new product launches, promotional programs, and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate vendor communications related to specialty product lines as needed
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency and customer experience
Required Qualifications
- 3\+ years of experience in sales support, account management, customer success, sales operations, demand planning, or related roles
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset and relationship\-building abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with consumer products, wholesale, retail, or toy industry experience
- Proficiency in NetSuite
- Experience with forecasting, inventory management, or supply chain planning
- Demonstrated ability to move into leadership roles
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Working conditions are typical of an office environment with regular interaction with an operational warehouse. The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, use a computer and phone, and communicate effectively. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. The employee must be able to remain focused while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Noise levels are typically low to moderate.
