Aquaponics Operations Associate - Part-Time

About This Role

JOB SUMMARY

• The incumbent for this position is a detail\-oriented and reliable Aquaponics Operations Associate to support the cultivation, harvesting, packaging, and maintenance of vegetables and greens in a controlled environment. This role involves following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES

Harvesting Operations

• Perform Complete Harvests by cutting plants at the base while preserving root integrity.
• Conduct Cut \& Come Harvesting to allow regrowth, ensuring minimal damage to plants.
• Remove damaged or unhealthy leaves during harvest.
• Label and store harvested products accurately with lot numbers and dates.

Packaging

• Follow SOPs for Packaging Leafy Greens, including:
• Handwashing and sanitation protocols.
• Use of clean equipment and materials.
• Safe handling and labeling of packaged products.
• Proper storage of finished goods.

Greenhouse Maintenance

• Execute daily and weekly tasks as per the Greenhouse Schedule, including:
• Cleaning floors, pest pots, and hydroponic systems.
• Watering plants and checking water quality, testing water chemicals and ensuring they are recorded in FarmHub.
• Transplanting seedlings and seeding new crops.
• Participating in scheduled meetings and project reviews.
• Monitoring, feeding and replacement of fish and associated water temperatures.
• Maintaining the equilibrium between fish and crop health.
• Ordering and maintaining of chemicals and fish food.

Marketing \& Financial

• Work with Activities Dept to organize events for residents about the Greenhouse
• Keep monthly budgets of growth and usage
• Recording key data related to fish and vegetable growth using the FarmHub system.
• Report to senior management on the health and progress of the farm.

Education \& Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in agriculture, horticulture, or greenhouse operations preferred.
• Must have food safety certification.
